Converting a cesspool in Diamond Head and Kāhala
If your home in Diamond Head and Kāhala still uses a cesspool, state law requires it to be upgraded, converted or connected to sewer by 2050. Many homeowners act sooner because of a home sale, a failing cesspool, or a renovation.

- A licensed local contractor reviews it, and usually a site and soil evaluation follows.
- An engineer designs the system and handles Department of Health approval.
